Abstract submission

  • Abstracts should be submitted only in word and PDF format before the deadline 02.01.2020 (Extended to 15.01.2020) via email to churchforests[at]forst.wzw.tum.de. The submitted abstracts will be forwarded to the Scientific Committee for review.
  • All abstracts must be presented in clear English with grammar and spelling of a quality suitable for publication.
  • Abstracts must be submitted during the submission period.
  • Submitter should be one of the co-authors of the abstract.
  • Authors will be notified for acceptance by 20.01.2020.

Abstract format and content

Please follow the guidelines below when writing and submitting your abstract.

The abstract should be as informative as possible, standard abbreviations may be used.

It should not contain figures/diagrams/tables/images/footnotes/endnotes: these may be added when submitting the paper. Before you begin, please prepare the following information:

  • Author’s contact details: Email/phone number/postal address
  • Author’s and co-Authors’ details: Full first and family names/email. The name of the presenting author must be underlined.
  • Affiliation details: Institution/company/University, city, country
  • Abstract title: To be presented in Times New Roman of 12 pt., centered, with capital letters
  • Abstract text: To be presented in Times New Roman of 12 pt., double spaced paragraphs, left Alignment. The abstract should not exceed 350 words.
  • Abstract topic: Please indicate from the list of topics, where your title match.
  • Keywords: up to 5 keywords may be provided (at least 1 keyword is required to go ahead with the submission). This will help – if the abstract is accepted – to prepare the conference program.

Final paper submission

  • Authors receiving abstract acceptance are kindly requested to upload their full paper by early (12.02.2020) and latest (15.03.2020)
  • Papers should be submitted in word and PDF files. Submitted papers should follow the formatting of Springer guidelines and 'key style points'. Accordingly, submitted paper should contain: Abstract, Introduction, Materials and Methods, Results, Discussion, Conclusions, Acknowledgements and References
  • The references and citation style must follow the Springer guidelines as well
  • All papers submitted via the online submission form will be forwarded to the Scientific Committee (Paper Review Committee) for review. The Committee may ask with deadline to upload a revised version of the paper

Travel and accommodation

Domestic travel and accommodation costs will be covered for Ethiopians paper contributors.

Selection procedure

Submitted abstracts with full paper contributions or those clearly indicate to submit the full papers in the mentioned date after the conference will be selected. The abstracts/papers must contain significant novel results. Results can be either theoretical or empirical or review. Results will be judged on the degree to which they have been objectively established and/or their potential for scientific and technological impact. Reproducibility of results and easy availability of code will be taken into account in the decision-making process.

Book

Selected paper contributions, presented at the conference, will be published in a book as chapters in one of the recognized publishers, potentially in Springer.
