Douglas fir plays an important role in the current discussions regarding possible impacts of climate change on Bavarian forests. Furthermore a lot of expectations are connected with this tree species. With this background financially advantageous shares of Douglas fir within a tree species portfolio should be determined. Thereby diversification effects through the production of high value assortments, sawtimber and pulpwood of Norway spruce, Scots pine, European beech and oak, as well as Douglas fir will be considered. In addition, different scenarios should be analysed. For example, it is differed between the necessity that all stands have to be planted and the possibility of natural regeneration of some tree species.
