Receptor-kinase-mediated control of cell wall stress response.

We are interested in the inter-cellular communication regulating the architecture of ovules and floral organs, such as petals. Ovules are central to plant sexual reproduction and the predecessors of seeds, a major food source for humans. Alterations in size and shape of petals have notable implications for horticulture. Here, we propose to examine several signalling components that contribute to the formation of ovules and floral organs that can all be implicated in the formation of and regulation through plasmodesmata that connect neighbouring cells.
