New Publication on European Food Safety Research (FoodSafety4EU)

Just in time for last weeks Food Safety Forum in Brussels, our newest Paper entitled “European food safety research: an explorative study with funding experts’ consultation” got published!

During the FoodSafety4EU project activities, we identified a huge fragmentation in food safety research funding in European Member States, impeding the exploitation of existing research potential across European countries. As food safety is inherently linked to societal challenges of our time, it is necessary to identify and remove existing barriers and to find solutions to strengthen the food safety of the future. In this paper, we took a closer look at the topic of food safety funding by conducting interviews and a workshop with funding entities from six European Countries. The overall aim was to assess key issues related to research funding in general and food safety in particular, as well as to jointly discuss challenges and possible strategies to address them.

We also want to thank our partners from IBA Bucharest, the National Research Council of Italy, Ghent University, VTT Technical Research Centre of Finland and the University of Chemistry and Technology Prague for this great collaboration!
