Partner meeting in Bristol, October 2019

The UGAIN partners met in Bristol, UK in October 2019. The partners discussed the details of the country information guide and the training modules which will be available to all via the UGAIN Training and Information App.

The app is compatible both with desktop and mobile devices and will include case studies and training modules providing the knowledge needed to set up an intercultural garden or to turn an urban garden into a meeting point for social integration. Plus, a country guide handbook with detailed information about where to get help and support in each country.

Our UK hosting partner Social Farms & Gardens took us to see several urban gardens in Bristol; including Dame Emily Community Garden which is a small community garden in a park which welcomes everyone from the area.

We also visited the well established Windmill City Farm which was formed in 1976 by a volunteer group of local residents determined to see a piece of inner city wasteland put to more productive use - giving the local community the opportunity to experience farming in the heart of the city. The partners enjoyed seeing the animals as well as the many activities taking place on the farm.
